Q1: What type of spiritual program is this? Is it Christian or not? Isn't destiny a new age philosophy?

A1: No, this is not a new age program! All of our scriptural readings are taken from Bible versions and translations, such as King James Version, New King James Version, the Amplified Bible or even the New Living Translation and the New International Version. We do not utilize any denomination-specific Bibles in our programs.

This program is strictly suited for true believers who are ready to go beyond "just going to church" on Sunday morning and perhaps attending Bible Study on Wednesday (or Thursday) night. Q2:  Do I need to be a Bible scholar?

A3: You likely already possess everything that you need to take this course; however, here are a few guidelines and recommendations for computer/technical and academic resources:

Computer Guidelines:

Although we suggest the following technical recommendations, we do not provide any technical support for your personal (or work) computers, laptops, or the like. Therefore seek help from a trusted, tech-savvy friend or your local computer repair tech if assistant is needed. 1.   A working home desktop computer, laptop, net book or tablet PC. You should also have the latest version of these free software applications installed:

a.   A Current Web Browser (preferably IE7 or higher, Google Chrome, etc.)

b.   Adobe Flash is for interactive exercises, so download it here.

c.   Adobe Reader is for opening PDF files, so download it here.

2.   Internet access - High-speed or broadband access is recommended! However, we discourage those with dial-up Internet access and some Wi-Fi users from taking this course due to diminished quality as a result of Internet speed.

3.   Personal email account - An active email address is one that you use on a daily basis. On occasion, important announcements and notifications may be emailed to your personal email account.

4.   Working desktop printer with fresh ink cartridges and lots of printer paper - Some assignments you might want to print and carry with you.

Textbook Recommendations:

Although there are free online versions for nearly all of these items (except for #5 below), we do highly recommend that you own these items for your own continued personal spiritual growth long after leaving this course. Therefore, feel free to purchase the following items as soon as your finances allow you to do so.

1.   A Bible - one or more of traditional or modern Bible Versions: KJV, NKJV, NIV, NLT, Amplified, etc. Or a Parallel Bible with two or more versions is even better.

2.   A Bible Dictionary - We recommend the Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary.

3.   Strong's Concordance - For looking up the original Greek or Hebrew meanings of biblical terms.

4.   A Commentary - If your Bible isn't a Study Bible that breaks down important scriptural meanings, then you will like need a commentary and there are plenty of them out there, such as Matthew Henry, MacArthur's, Nelson's, Believer's Bible, and many more. Always cross-check the meanings of your favorite Bible verses prior to selecting one for purchase.

5.   The Name Book by Dorothy Astoria - This book contains the spiritual meanings of many "American" names and is beneficially when it's time to name children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, etc. - Buy it here!

Q4:  How much homework is required?

A4: How much time you set aside to complete each lesson is based on your learning style. Most of our lessons involve interacting with the material through a combination of reading, listening, watching video and/or taking assessments to test your learning. Former students have regretted not putting more time into the lessons.

So if you rush through it or skim over it, it’ll only hurt you in the long run. So we suggest that you set aside 30 minutes for being introduced to a new module, one to two hours for regular lessons and a day or two for completing reflection exercises. Just be aware that the amount of time you invest will show up in the quality of your work and we will hold you accountable for neglectfulness in the completion of assignments.

Q5:  Do I have access to all of these lessons at once?

A5: No, all of our modules are designed to build upon one lesson after another with time between lessons to process what you have learned. Therefore, lessons are released to you for five to six consecutive days followed by a day of rest and then the cycle repeats itself as you move into the next module. You are responsible for completing all lessons as instructed. Most lessons are due within 24 hours after they have been made available, while you have 48 to 72 hours to complete reflection exercises.  All lessons are received and reviewed by Destiny-Focused™ Coach Jaketha (or another designated Destiny-Focused™ staff member). Please note that access to instructor(s) is limited, lesson and module feedback along with asking extremely important or emergency questions will be answered on pre-arranged office hours: Monday-Thursdays (unless it is a holiday). All other general questions will be addressed in a public forum in the virtual classroom thereby benefitting current and future students.

Q6:  How long do I have access to the program?

A6: This is a six-week program spanning forty calendar days. You will have online access to the program for approximately 42 days. After which, your access to the class will be closed. Unless you have a valid reason, failure to complete the program in the time allotted will result in having to pay for a new virtual seat. The ability to request a time extension is addressed in the syllabus for this course.
